In conjunction with their current exhibit, A Common Theme: Portraiture, the Art League of Long Island is hosting Face to Face: The Enduring Art of Portraiture, a lecture featuring Pamela Ford. “In this talk Ms. Ford will lead the audience on a discussion of portraiture from Egyptian and Roman tomb paintings and Chinese court portraits to Robert Scott Duncanson and Berenice Abbott, Lorna Simpson, Cindy Sherman, Lucien Freud and Andy Warhol, with a focus on how artists convey aspects of their subjects’ lives through their choice of materials and compositions.”

If you would like to attend, please register online or call 631-462-5400 ext. 222.
